Home Show Tablescapes

September has been a busy, busy month!!  We just returned from the beach, for a much-needed break and also to get a bit of work done.  We cleaned baseboards, did some touch up painting, and spruced things up after the rental season.  We left with things looking good, hope they'll stay that way until we get a chance to get back.  On to the next project--our daughter is moving out and into an apartment, an UNfurnished apartment, with three girlfriends, so we have been trying to find furnishings on a budget.  We have found some cute things, but also some things that need to be re-upholstered and some tables that need to be painted.  I will be working on that the rest of this week.  I hope to spend some time with all of you this week as well, as I didn't have the opportunity at the beach.  We had a laptop there, but it just seemed to take forever!!

September is also the month of the Home Show, with the tablescaping contest.  Interior designers decorate tables, which not only gives them publicity, but the opportunity to win some cash.  Hope you like the tables!

The first table was designed by David Allan Ballas, Interior Design.

Gorgeous china and take a look at that tureen!!

Using crystal candleholders of various heights, he filled the cups with fruit.  One candleholder had a crystal dish on top filled with fruit.  I may steal  borrow this idea!

To complete the "room" decoration, he used a petite-sized hutch/secretary, which I really wanted to bring home, and an adorable chair.  Much attention was paid to every detail.
On to the next table!!

This table was designed by Melanie Palma Designs.  The centerpiece is very clever, with a pumpkin arrangement on top of a tall candlestick.

Place setting is so perfect for fall, with the black charger and the very cool flatware.

I loved how the flatware had a similar design as the chairs.

The designers even used rugs in their showcase.

Cute pillows in every chair.
A vignette showcasing adorable stems.
More tables to come!  Stay tuned!  Thanks for visiting with me, hope to "chat" with you very soon!  Don't give up on me yet!  I am always so grateful for your kind comments!

A Setting for Sunflowers

The calendar still says it's summer!  Our temperatures have been cooler, but it sure has been dreary.  I couldn't wait to get outside at the beginning of the week to set up this tablescape, but before I could even finish the pictures, a storm came up out of nowhere, it seemed, and rain threatened.  So I called in the troops and we got everything in before the rain came.  I had every intention of setting up again, taking a few nighttime shots, but never got around to it.

I found these great sunflower plates at the end of summer last year, and couldn't wait to use them, so here goes!
This April Cornell tablecloth was the perfect backdrop for this transition table.

The picnic table was set for four, and the place settings were changed up a bit, to accommodate the centerpiece and candle holders.

Of course, the centerpiece had to be sunflowers!  I also added in some mums for the color.

I used my Target chargers, and a yellow napkin, with the "sun" face napkin ring.

A view of the plates without the bowl...

Just a bit of bling on the candle holders from Home Goods.

I wound a grapevine around the table with green leaves, nandina berries. and white lights.  Never got around to seeing how that looked at night!

Stems were purchased at Tuesday Morning.

I hope to see some sunshine this weekend!!  Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate your kind comments!!

One More Summer Setting

After all the hoopla for the White party, I felt a tremendous desire to lay on the couch for several days.  We did get things put away and cleaned up, but I took my good, sweet time.  So, not wanting to miss tablescaping this week, I used some leftover white flowers, and took it from there.  And since the temperatures here are still in the upper 80's, I thought a fresh look was ok.  I have been looking for some dishes with purple but the only ones I was able to find were from TJ Maxx, and they didn't have enough.  So I'm using white dishes--can't go wrong with the white dishes--and a limoge salad plate.
We are keeping the pool open for awhile, since fall is one of the best times to enjoy the outside.

Chargers are currently available at Tuesday Morning, and dinner plates were purchased last year at TJ Maxx.  Limoge plates have a delicate floral design, and even though they weren't precisely the right colors, I thought they blended well with the purple and green.

I found this runner in Home Goods and loved the combination of purple and lime green.

I purchased these limoge salt cellars on Ebay, I think.  It's been awhile ago.

Candlesticks and votives are from Home Goods and stems are from TJ Maxx.  I went to several stores in order to find 8!  Can't beat TJ Maxx, Home Goods and Marshalls!

I think the lime green napkins brighten the table a bit.  I tried the other way around, but I liked this better.

Bird's eye view...
I added liriope blooms to white daisy mums, carnations, and baby's breath for added color.

At dusk, candles are lit.

Goodnight, all!!  Thanks for stopping by, I'll try to be more fall-like next week :)  As always, I appreciate your kind comments!
