An Autumn Day

It's amazing how fast time flies!  It seems like yesterday that I was putting my daughter on the school bus, and this past week-end we moved her into her own apartment!  Luckily, she's only 20 short minutes away, and I'm sure we will still be spending lots of time with her.  Her apartment is beautiful, so much better than my first apartment, which I have tried desperately to forget.  Her bedroom is bigger than the one I have now, there's an updated kitchen, with brand new stainless appliances and granite.  We have had fun decorating it, and she shares it with three of her girlfriends.  I am excited for her, and I hope to share some of the pictures when everything is all finished.

I had a few hours yesterday to play, so I prepared a fall table with flowers from the yard (a few faux thrown in for good measure)!
It was such a beautiful day!  Temperatures in the 70's and not one drop of rain--yea!!  So I took it outdoors, because in a few weeks I will be inside for a lonnnng time!

I used a Raymond Waites tablecloth, probably purchased at Marshalls or TJ Maxx, in fall colors.

I used flowers from the yard arranged in a wheelbarrow.

This cute guy has hydrangeas for hair, wish I had those curls!

I loved this shot, because you can see the sky!  Such a crisp, autumn day!

A burlap runner grounded the centerpiece.

A combination of rustic chargers, and fine china was used.

The top layer of china consists of a bowl and salad plate, which is Princess Anne, Signature Collection.  The green and gold are perfect fall colors.  This was my mother's china.
The next layer is a white and gold Limoge, which I won at an auction.
Last layer is Courtyard Gold by Lenox.
Not sure of the stemware patterns.

Napkin rings have a place to add a flower, in this case they are holding orange and gold faux flowers.

Candlesticks add a bit of bling.

Silverplate is Baroque by Godinger.

Looks a bit spooky at night~

Good night to all!  Thanks for stopping by!  I am looking forward to the weekend--my son is coming home from college and I haven't seen him since August!  Can't wait!  I appreciate your kind comments, and I look forward to visiting with you very soon!!

  5. As you read in my blog, I just love switching things up inside and outside! Love the bling of the candlesticks, the contrast of formal dishware with casual chargers, and the gorgeous centerpiece. Maybe I'm projecting, but the expression on the man looks like he is sad the warm days are ending, too. :)
