A Pink Valentine's Day Setting

From the very beginning, I always said if this became more of a chore than a joy, I would stop.  I am still having fun, designing tablescapes, looking at everyone's gorgeous blogs and chatting with newfound blog friends.  But sometimes I feel that I am missing out on life, while sitting in front of this computer.  I will continue to post when I have time, and I will definitely continue to view all of your amazing, creative posts.  If I am slow to respond, or I neglect to make a comment, please forgive me.  I am limiting the amount of time I spend at this desk.  I did set a table this week in the Valentine mode, a bit vintage and nostalgic.
Valentine's Day is all about love, and this tablecloth was made by my first love, my mother.  It is very special to me.

Pink roses and baby's breath add a romantic touch.

Place setting consists of chargers from Tuesday Morning, white scroll plates (B on back?) from TJ Maxx, pink Bordello Pinheira cabbage plates, and Limoge bread and butter plate.

Stems were won at an auction, and I have no idea as to the manufacturer or pattern.  Do you know?  White vase is vintage, from an estate sale.

Another view of the stemware...
Cupid candlelabras were purchased at the local antique mall.

I'm not a real crafty-type person, but I did put these lacy luminaries together thanks to a tutorial from the wedding bistro at Bellenza.  So easy even I could do it!!  I added water and a floating candle.  Click here for the tutorial.
I also found these lovely pink napkins and napkin rings at an estate sale.  I loved the size and quality of the fabric.

You've seen this little guy before!

Thanks for stopping by!  I appreciate your kind comments.
 Happy Valentine's Day!

  1. I totally understand your feelings about blogging and real life. I have also learned it's not the end of the world to skip a week (or more!) but I look forward to anything you post in the future since your tables and their settings are so special. As far as this week, how wonderful that your mother made your tablecloth, I love pink so much more than red and I have a little "bored" angel this week too.

  2. Hi, Betsy! I wish I DID know the pattern of the stemware, because it is really rockin'! It has a vintage feel to it, but I have no idea who its maker is. All the pink is so pretty and fem...it just makes me cross my legs at the ankle instead of sitting here like a lumberjack! Like Robin, I totally understand the balance that has to be kept. I was just saying this morning that I spend SO much time on the computer that I don't even know what's going on around me half the time. Being home alone most hours of the day doesn't help. I applaud you for recognizing that you need a little breather, and I'll just be glad to hear from you when I do and to see what you put together when you are feelin' it. Don't be a stranger! :-)

  3. I agree with you about spending too much time in front of the computer. I have become quite the couch potato, moving from the couch to the computer. Not good.

But Betsy, your tables are always worth waiting for, this is gorgeous. I love everything about it. Those glasses are beautiful. I love the cherubs and roses, everything is just pink perfection. xo

  4. Hi Betsy- What a pretty table! Love the cupid candelabras! Those are so nice!
Your Limoge's plates are beautiful and they look good with the other dishes.
Your stemware is beautiful- I take a couple of pictures of things like this and send it to Replacements Ltd's help line and they usually can tell me something about it.
I know what you mean about too much time behind the computer. I started to feel like quitting because of guilt but I decided the answer is just to budget the time. Somehow it starts to feel like a competition and work but it shouldn't feel that way. Do it at your pace and that's all that matters.

  8. I, too, need to move my body away from the computer more than I have lately. Your table is beautiful. The crocheted tablecloth is stunning. It just amazes me how much work goes into making one. I think your glassware looks like Cambridge, but it is hard to tell by the photos. Check out Replacement, Ltd.

  15. Hi Betsy, what an absolutely gorgeous table. You certainly are blessed in having a fabulous tablecloth made by your mum. Everything looks so pretty. And, I understand about getting a little tired of sitting at the computer whilst life passes by and I try not to spend all my time doing that, even though I am alone, but I certainly would miss my online friends if I didn't have them any more. Thanks for sharing the beauty of your table. I have recently found your blog and am now following you, and will visit often. Please stop by my blog and perhaps you would like to follow me also. Have a wonderful day. Hugs, Chris
