Can't believe the holidays are upon us! Thought I'd quickly share my tables for Thanksgiving. So grateful that we were able to again come together on this day. I set tables for 16, but at the last minute 4 didn't make it, so we ended up with 12. I set two tables--one formal and another in the kitchen, with a more relaxed, casual feel. Without further ado, welcome!
The formal table in the dining room was set for 12. I used my white and gold limoge china and Godinger iced beverage glasses.
I used a white tablecloth, that is a bit too long, thus the ends were gathered up for easier seating, and white linen napkins that were purchased at an estate sale. I also found additional napkin rings to match some I already owned. A gold and bronze runner was placed in the center.
I found cute little pumpkin place card holders at an antique mall, which, I believe, are copper. The color went well with the bronze in the runner. I found two bronze colored pumpkins at Tuesday Morning and used them on each side of the floral. Speaking of florals, I didn't intend for this to be so, well, big.
The candelabras were my grandmother's, then my mom's. I like using something of hers on my Thanksgiving table.
Since I only had 8 of the copper place card holders, I used these wire ones, which worked fine.
Individual s&p's were placed at every setting.
Flatware is Modern Victorian by Lunt.
The casual table had a more casual feel--but same napkins and stems. I used an orange tablecloth, brown runner, cornucopia filled with fruit, rose hips, and greenery.
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I am heavily into my Christmas decorating, although I haven't changed things up much. Hopefully I will have time to blog and visit with you all soon! Thanks for stopping by!
Thanks to Susan at Between Naps On the Porch for hosting!!

ReplyDeleteHi Sarah!! Good to hear from you. Glad you still have your mom in your life! I appreciate your visits, and hope to have more time for visiting and blogging in the future!! Thanks so much!!
DeleteBeautiful table and yes agree, your Aunt and Uncle are adorably amazing.
ReplyDeleteQuestion as so few people have oval tables; how many leafs does yours have?
Reason for asking, mine will only comfortably accommodate a seating of eight and I would love to make it larger. Was wondering if you have added an extra leaf some how and the table cloth is concealing it. (Thank you.) -Brenda-
Hi there!! I bought my oval table at an auction, it is one of those banded around the edges with double pedestal. I have enjoyed using it. Not sure why I said it was set for 12 (just having a moment), it actually was set for 10--which is comfortable. It came with 3 leaves, which is nice, and I can set 12 around it, but it's crowded. If the table can open up, you could have a leaf made. Thanks for visiting with me, and good luck!!
DeleteHi Betsy: Thank you so much for replying. Actually my table in the kitchen has a double pedestal and does have three leafs as well and seats ten whereas the one in my Dining Room I use mostly for special occasions is four-legged and unfortunately the smaller of the two. Reason why I was asking if you enlarged yours some way as I wish the latter was twice its size .... wishful thinking on my part. Guess I am going to have to get a carpenter to have a look at it.
DeleteHAPPY HOLIDAYS! -Brenda-
Love seeing all your lovely settings, but the picture and info about your aunt and uncle made my day!
ReplyDeleteOh, how incredibly sweet!!!!!! Your aunt and uncle are just adorable! I hope I look that good at their age. Heck...I hope I get to live to BE their age!!!! So they were making the rounds like young people, huh? I love that!!! You set both tables so beautifully! Good idea to gather up the ends of the one in the dining room. It looks like a fancy lady's petticoat! :-) (Do people even wear petticoats anymore??? I'm afraid those days are behind us.)
ReplyDeleteI don't know, but I know my daughter would love to dress that way! Not me, I'm a jeans kinda girl. Anyway, how the heck are ya?? I've been looking in every now and then, still in awe of your incredible settings, but I'm trying to limit my time at this computer. I'm still around, just not as much! It's so good to hear from you, I hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful. Can't believe the holidays are upon us, but I've been working hard, and I think I'm ahead of the game, for once. Miracles do happen lol. Take care!!
DeleteWOW!! They look great for their ages. So cute!
ReplyDeleteHi Traci, I know, right? How've you been? Thanks for popping in, always good to see your smiling face!
DeleteSo nice to see a new post from you! Have a wonderful holiday season!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to hear from you as well!! Merry Christmas to you and yours!
