A Shabby Chic Setting

Things are still in transition at my house from Christmas.  I've been trying to change a few things, and in the process, I am at a standstill, not really sure what I want to do.  So I thought today I would show you a fabulous shabby-chic table from my friends at Bellenza.  Bellenza is an exciting site--chocked full of unique and fabulous wedding and bridal shower ideas.  If you are planning a wedding or a shower, you must visit, although their beautiful tables could be used for any occasion.  For example, the table you will see below would be perfect for a romantic dinner or even a special birthday celebration!

The designers at Bellenza recommend a soft color palette when going for the shabby chic look with pastel-painted wooden "distressed" furnishings, and feminine, frilly accents, such as these fringed napkins.

The soft colors of ivory, white and pink are accented with ruffled ribbon and flower petals.

Clear glass plates set atop pink organza circles add a very vintage touch.  Add in elegant silver cutlery, jewel-trimmed favors, and pearl-ringed candle trays for added accents.

Lace-trimmed luminaries set on mirrored candle rings really give this table a romantic glow!  For directions on how to make these beautiful luminaries, click here.  So easy I think I might just give it a try!
Bellenza has great ideas for party favors, such as the mini purses above, which could be filled with potpourri, Jordan almonds, or hand soap.

A Christmas Setting

Just a quick little post of my Christmas table.  Better late than never!  Hope you enjoy!
Table is set and ready for guests!
Mirrored chargers from Tuesday Morning anchor Holly Holiday china.
Red holly napkins are held with Lenox napkin rings.
My silver reindeer takes center stage.
I used artifical greenery as an anchor and added in fresh leland cypress and magnolia leaves.  I also added poinsettia branches on each side, which matched the ones on the sideboard, and silver balls, silver finials, and my silver candlelabras.

Red stems tie in with the red napkins, and iced beverage glasses are Godinger.
Little mercury glass vases on each end hold red and green bouquets.
When these pictures were taken, I hadn't gotten around to adding the candles on my reindeer!!

Now on to January!!  Let the New Year begin!!  Take a look below for a New Year's setting for two!  Thanks for your visit and your kind comments!

A New Year's Eve Setting for Two

Happy New Year!  We spent a quiet evening at home alone with some music, conversation, great food and wine.  It was a very pleasant evening!
Thought we would dine by the fire, but with a sixty-degree temperature, a fire would have heated things up a bit toooo much!

The roses were on special at Fresh Market, and they were so beautiful and such a great price, I couldn't pass them up.

I've been watching these salad plates (Galaxy by Sahura) for a year at a local antique mall.  When they were finally priced at half off, I couldn't resist!  They are paired with simple white plates with gold rims that were purchased at Pier 1 years ago, and a larger black-rimmed charger plate from a kitchen specialty store.

I found these champagne flutes in a closet still in the box, never used.  I purchased them years ago at Tuesday Morning, they are Vincennes by J. G. Durand.

These beautiful napkin rings were a Christmas gift from a dear friend.

After appetizers of cocktail shrimp, pecan-cheddar spread with strawberry preserves, and smoked salmon (I was full after this) we had a salad of romaine, strawberries, grapes, feta, and toasted walnuts with a blush wine vinaigrette, lobster tails, crab cake, and spinach squares.  Our wine choice was Sebastiani Cherry Bloc.  Too full for dessert!

First light of 2012!

Thanks for stopping by!    I wish much happiness, joy, prosperity, and good health to all in the New Year!
